2008 Promotions - Headquarters Managers
Jeff Cash appointed Director of Product Management
Jeff Cash was recently appointed Director of Product Management. In his new role, Jeff responsible for working closely with the Business Groups to help execute their strategy and help branches with profitable sales growth.
Jeff joined Ferguson in 2004 as a Regional Residential Sales Manager and was appointed to Director of Marketing in 2006.
“We will create efficiencies in how we serve our branch partners and ultimately the customer through alignment with sourcing, pricing, supply chain and branch operations to deliver the best fill-rates, lowest total cost of product ownership and competitive market pricing for the products we manage,” said Jeff.
A native of Albuquerque, N.M., Jeff graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1986. Jeff completed the IMD – Wolseley Global Executive Development in 2006.
George Connolly appointed Director of Price Management
George Connolly was recently appointed Director of Price Management. In his new role, George is responsible for managing all aspects of accurate and consistent marked-focused pricing for Ferguson.
George joined Ferguson in 1981 as a Trainee. He has held several key positions since then: General Manager, Regional Sales Manager, Price Matrix Manager, and Director of Marketing – Finished Products.
“The mission of the Regional Price Centers and our group here in Newport News is to provide valuable services to our branches and support their endeavors to attract and keep loyal customers,” said George.
A native of Devon, Pa., George graduated from the University of Virginia in 1981. George completed the Executive Development program at the Darden School of Business in 2005. He was Trainee of the Year in 1982 and a two-time President’s Club salesman.
Appointment of Jake Schlicher
Jake Schlicher was recently appointed Vice President of Private Label for Wolseley’s North
American Division. Jake is responsible for our overall Private Label strategy and business execution across the
operating companies.
Jake joined Ferguson in 1999 through the L&H Supply acquisition. He has held several key positions since then:
Business Unit Manager for the Residential Business Group, Business Manager, Director of Business Sales, and
Director of Business Groups – Shared Businesses and Services. Jake was chosen to lead the new Private Label unit
in August of 2007 when he was appointed Director of Private Label.
Jake joined L&H in 1985 as Branch Manager and also served as Divisional Manager prior to being promoted to Vice
President, Sales and Marketing in 1995.
Appointment of Scott Russell
Scott Russell has been appointed to Vice President of Sourcing for
Wolseley’s North American Division. Scott is responsible for sourcing and vendor relationships
for Ferguson.
Scott began his Ferguson career in Newport News, Va., first as a Management Trainee in 1985
and then in Outside Sales in 1986. He has held several key positions since then: Branch
Manager, General Manager and Manager of Sourcing - HVAC. Scott was appointed Director of
Sourcing in 2006.
Scott was a President’s Club Salesman for 1988-89. He was also General Manager of Winston-
Salem, N.C., when it was awarded Supply House of the Year for 1997-98. Scott attended
Executive Development programs at Duke University and the Darden School of Business. Scott
also attended the IMD Executive program in Switzerland. A native of Winston-Salem, N.C.,
Scott is a 1985 graduate of Duke University.
John Posey to serve on the Ferguson Board of Directors
John Posey has been selected to serve on the Ferguson Board of Directors.
John joined Ferguson in 1979 as a part-time college student in Beltsville, Md. After spending time in sales, John held management positions at the Washington, D.C. satellite and at the Beltsville, Md. main branch, which received Supply House of the Year in 1999 under John’s guidance. Other key positions are Regional Acquisitions Manager, Regional Manager for the Midwest region and Senior Vice President, Business Groups for Wolseley’s North American division. He was recently appointed Senior Vice President of the newly-created Industrial Region.
Originally from Laurel, Md., John received his B.S. from the University of Maryland in 1981 and a MBA from the University of Maryland in 1985. John is also a graduate of various other programs, including the Duke Wolseley Executive Development Program, Darden Wolseley Executive Development Program, IMD Wolseley Executive Development Program and Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program.
John Gillespie appointed Director of Brand Development, Advertising and Promotions
John Gillespie has been promoted to Director of Brand Development, Advertising and Promotions.
In this North American role, John is responsible for ensuring a strategic
approach to our brand development and promotional efforts. John will also oversee the newly formed
Strategic Funding group, which will ensure all funds secured from our vendors are aligned with key
initiatives that support the Business Groups.
John joined Ferguson in 2007 as Corporate Marketing Manager of Advertising & Promotions. He
previously served as the Vice President of Marketing at Anheuser Busch where he worked for 26 years.
John supported many of the world-renowned brands, including Budweiser and Busch Gardens.
John is a 1983 graduate of Christopher Newport College. Please join me in congratulating John in his
new role.
Matt Dowdy was recently appointed Director of Vendor Funds Accounting
Matt Dowdy was recently appointed Director of Vendor Funds Accounting. In his new role, Matt is responsible for managing all financial aspects of Ferguson’s vendor fund programs.
Matt joined Ferguson in 1985 as a Finance Trainee and became Controller of Ft. Lauderdale only five months later. He has held several key positions at Headquarters since 1991: Area Accounting Manager, Manager of Shared Accounting, Business Analyst, Manager of Branch Accounting and Solution Architect.
“I am extremely excited about and grateful for this opportunity,” said Matt. “I look forward to building a team to meet the challenges ahead as Ferguson continues to grow.”
A native of Lynchburg, Va., Matt graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1985. Matt has also completed the Executive Development program at the Darden School of Business.
Bill Brundage appointed VP of Finance
Bill Brundage was recently appointed Vice President of Finance. In his new role, Bill will oversee the strategic and functional areas of Finance for Ferguson.
Bill joined Ferguson in 2003 as Manager of Finance and became Corporate Controller in 2005. He has completed the Executive Development program at the Darden School of Business. Bill has also completed the IMD Executive program in Switzerland.
“I am very excited about this new opportunity and the opportunity to lead such a tremendous group of associates as we tackle the challenges of tomorrow,” said Bill.
A native of Richmond, Va., Bill graduated from the University of Virginia in 1998.
Wolseley names Allison Bradlee manager of recruiting and recognition for its North American Division
NEWPORT NEWS, VA - - Wolseley announces the recent appointment of Allison Bradlee manager of recruiting and recognition for Wolseley’s North American Division. In her new role, Bradlee will oversee all recruiting efforts and the recognition department. She will also coordinate with the temporary staffing department to implement a new technology platform in an effort to save money and help the company gain efficiencies in this area.
Bradlee joined Ferguson in 1998 as a management trainee. She was the showroom administrator and then a showroom consultant before becoming showroom manager of Fort Myers and Naples, Fla. Bradlee then transitioned into the role of corporate recruiter in 2003. She was promoted to manager of college recruiting in 2005 and manager of recruiting in 2007.
A native of Virginia Beach, Va., Bradlee is a 1998 graduate of Virginia Tech. Bradlee was a recipient of the President’s Gallery Award for 2000-01. She has also attended the Virginia Tech Leadership class, Legacy of Leadership and the International Leadership Development Program.
Wolseley names Denise Brown director of planning and alignment for its North American Division
NEWPORT NEWS, VA - - Wolseley announces the recent appointment of Denise Brown to director of planning and alignment for Wolseley’s North American Division. In her new role, Brown will develop and maintain a process that supports business strategy development, alignment of corporate initiatives and coordination of change management across all levels of the organization.
Brown joined Ferguson in 1986 as a finance trainee. Key positions in Finance included controller and later area accounting manager. In 1994, she became a joint team member with the Horizon 2000 Re-engineering initiative and later a business analyst. In 1998, she moved to Human Resources as manager of compensation. She has held several key positions since then, including director of compensation and recruiting (2003-05), director of recruiting (2005-2007), and most currently as director of recruiting, recognition, temp staffing and HR acquisitions.
A native of Hampton, Va., Brown is a 1986 graduate of Christopher Newport University.
Ferguson names Spencer Gilmore director of business integration
NEWPORT NEWS, VA. - - Ferguson recently appointed Spencer Gilmore to director of business integration. In his new role, Gilmore will strategically manage and oversee the functional business transition of all new acquisitions.
Gilmore joined Ferguson in Richmond, Va., in 1989 as a trainee. He has held several key positions in his Ferguson career including Systems Development Manager; Regional Operations Manager; Manager of Installation; and his most recent position as Manager of Business Integration in Acquisitions. During this time, the Acquisitions and Business Integration department received the “HQ Department of the Year” award for fiscal year 2006-07.
“I’m extremely excited about this new opportunity and confident that our world-class team will continue to excel in successfully integrating great companies into Wolseley’s North American division,” said Gilmore.
A native of Williamsburg, Va., Gilmore graduated from Randolph-Macon College in 1989.
